On August 1, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, H.R. 510, the Rapid DNA Act of 2017, sponsored by Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-WI). Among other provisions, the legislation would integrate the use of rapid DNA instruments in order to reduce the DNA testing backlog.
The House approved the bill on May 16 (see The Source, 5/19/17).
