On March 12, the House passed, 411-4, a bill (S. 2733) to extend until April 30 programs under the Higher Education Act (HEA) (P.L. 105-244). The Senate passed the measure on March 7. Congress passed the current extension (P.L. 110-109), the fourth since it reauthorized the HEA in 1998, on October 30 (see The Source, 11/02/07). It expires on March 31.
