Congressional Schedule: August 1-5, 2022

Floor Action:

The Senate is in session this week.

The House is in recess until September 6, but is scheduled to return to session during August pending Senate action on the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (as-yet-unnumbered).

Mark-Ups:

Employment- On Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee will mark up several bills, including S.4524, a bill to limit the judicial enforceability of predispute nondisclosure and nondisparagement contract clauses relating to disputes involving sexual assault and sexual harassment. 

Human Trafficking- On Wednesday, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will mark up several bills, including S. 4611, a bill to improve services for trafficking victims by establishing, in Homeland Security Investigations, the Investigators Maintain Purposeful Awareness to Combat Trafficking Trauma Program and the Victim Assistance Program.

Military- On Wednesday, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee also will consider S. 4377, the Military Spouse Employment Act.

Women’s History- On Wednesday, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee also will mark up H.R. 5271, a bill to designate the Thelma Harper Post Office Building in Nashville, Tennessee, and H.R. 6614, a bill to designate the Rosa Louise McCauley Parks Post Office Building in Detroit, Michigan.
