Congressional Schedule: June 10-14, 2019

Floor Action:

Appropriations- On Wednesday, the House is scheduled to begin consideration of H.R. 2740, a minibus spending bill that contains the FY2020 Defense; Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies; State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs; and Energy and Water spending bills.

International- On Monday, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 2140, the Preventing Child Marriage Act.

Markups:

Appropriations- On Tuesday, the House Appropriations Committee will consider the FY2020 Financial Services and General Government spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered).

Human Trafficking- On Wednesday, the Senate Judiciary Committee will mark up S. 1494, the Secure and Protect Act, a bill to amend the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act. 

Military- On Wednesday, the House Armed Services Committee will mark up H.R. 2500, the FY2020 National Defense Authorization Act.

Miscellaneous- On Wednesday, the House Committee on Oversight and Reform is scheduled to markup several bills, including H.R. 1526, a bill to designate a United States post office facility in Tumwater, Washington, as the “Eva G. Hewitt Post Office,” and H.R. 2451, a bill to designate a post office facility in Central Falls, Rhode Island, as the “Elizabeth Buffum Chace Post Office.” 

Hearings:

International- On Thursday, the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, and Global Women’s Issues will hold a hearing, “Women in Conflict: Advancing Women’s Role in Peace and Security.”

Small Business/Entrepreneurship- On Wednesday, the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee will hold a hearing, “Reauthorization of the Small Business Administration’s Contracting Programs.” 

STEM- On Wednesday, the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology will hold a hearing, “Combating Sexual Harassment in Science.”
