Congressional Schedule: June 13-17, 2016

Floor Action:

Appropriations- This week, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 5293, the FY2017 Defense spending bill.

The Senate is likely to consider S. 2578, the FY2017 Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies spending bill.

Military- The Senate also is scheduled to continue its consideration of S. 2943, the FY2017 National Defense Authorization Act.

Mark-Ups:

Appropriations- On Wednesday, the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government will mark up the FY2017 Financial Services and General Government spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered).

The Senate Appropriations Committee will consider the measure on Thursday.

International- On Thursday, the House Foreign Affairs Committee will mark up several bills, including H.R. 5332, the Women, Peace, and Security Act.

Hearings:

International- On Wednesday, the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, and Global Women’s Issues will hold a hearing, “Barriers to Education Globally: Getting Girls in the Classroom.”
