Floor Action:
The Senate is in session this week.
Child Protection- This week, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 485, the Stronger Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA).
Civil Rights- The House will consider H. J. Res. 17, a resolution to remove the deadline for ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment.
Crime- The House also will consider H.R. 1652, the VOCA Fix to Sustain the Crime Victims Fund Act of 2021, which includes provisions to ensure that survivors of child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and other crimes continue to receive vital services.
Violence Against Women- The House will consider H.R. 1620, the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act.
Hearings:
Employment- On Thursday, the House Education and Labor Subcommittees on Civil Rights and Human Services, and Workforce Protection will hold a joint hearing, “Fighting for Fairness: Examining Legislation to Confront Workplace Discrimination.”
Also on Thursday, the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion will hold a hearing, “By the Numbers: How Diversity Data Can Measure Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.”
International- On Wednesday, the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe, Energy, the Environment and Cyber will hold a hearing, “Women Leading the Way: The Democratic Movement in Belarus.”
Veterans- On Thursday, the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Health will hold a hearing, “Beyond Deborah Sampson: Improving Healthcare for America’s Women Veterans in the 117th Congress.”
