Floor Action:
The House and Senate are in session this week.
STEM- This week, the Senate is expected to consider H.R. 4521, the America COMPETES Act of 2022, which includes provisions related to broadening the participation of women and girls in STEM, as well as improving outreach to women-owned businesses.
Military- On Tuesday, the House will consider H.R. 6865, the Don Young Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2022. The bill contains provisions on sexual harassment and sexual assault.
Violence Against Women- On Wednesday, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 5706, the Stop Sexual Assault and Harassment in Transportation Act.
Women’s History- This week, the House will consider S.3294, a bill to place in the Capitol or on the Capitol Grounds statues to honor Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States Sandra Day O’Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg; S.1226, a bill to designate the “Sylvia H. Rambo United States Courthouse”; and S. 2126, a bill to designate the “Louisa Swain Federal Office Building.”

Women’s History- On Wednesday, the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee will mark up several bills, including S. 3884, a bill to designate the “Cora Reynolds Anderson Post Office,” and H.R. 2324, a bill to designate the “D. Edwina Stephens Post Office.”
Hearings:
Veterans- On Tuesday, the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs will hold a hearing on several bills, including H.R. 6064, a bill to direct the secretary of Veterans Affairs to seek to enter into an agreement with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine for a review of examinations, furnished by the secretary, to individuals who submit claims to the secretary for compensation for mental and physical conditions linked to military sexual trauma; and a bill that would allow surviving spouses who remarry after ten consecutive years of receipt, or entitlement to, benefits relating to Dependency Indemnity Compensation to retain 50 percent of the amount payable under such provision, and those who remarry after 20 years to retain the full amount (as-yet-unnumbered).
On Wednesday, the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will hold a hearing on several bills, including the Improving VA Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access Act (as-yet-unnumbered), and the VA Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) Data Improvement Act (as-yet-unnumbered).
