On March 15, the House Judiciary Committee approved, by voice vote, a bill (H.R. 3127) that would impose sanctions against individuals responsible for genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan. The House International Relations Committee approved the measure on March 8 (see The Source, 3/10/06). The Senate approved a similar bill (S. 1462) on November 18 (see The Source, 11/21/05).
