Congress Extends SBA Programs

On March 17, the House passed, by voice vote, H.R. 1541, a bill to extend programs at the Small Business Administration (SBA) until July 31. The Senate also passed the bill, by voice vote, the same day. The current extension, P.L. 110-235, expires on March 20. The president is expected to sign the legislation into law.

Programs extended under the measure include the Women’s Business Centers, the National Women’s Business Council, and Small Business Development Center programs, as well as the 8(a), HUBZone, Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), and veterans lending programs.
