Congress Passes SBA Extension

On December 5, the House passed, by voice vote, a bill (H.R. 4252) to extend until May 23, 2008, the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) authorization. The Senate approved the measure, by unanimous consent, on December 7. This is the fourth short-term extension of SBA programs, authority, and provisions since the SBA last was reauthorized in September 2006. In July, Congress passed the current extension, P.L. 110-57, which will expire on December 15.
