Continuing Appropriations Signed into Law

On October 4, the House passed, 352-66, a bill to fund the government through November 18. The Senate approved the bill, 79-12, on September 26. The president signed the measure (P.L. 112-36) into law on October 5. Congress cleared a previous continuing resolution (CR) (P.L. 112-33) on September 29 (see The Source, 9/30/11), which expired on October 4.

The CR caps FY2011 spending at $1.043 trillion, as provided in the debt ceiling agreement (P.L. 112-25), and provides $2.65 billion in disaster relief.
