House Passes Resolution on Child Abuse

On November 13, the House passed, by voice vote, a resolution (S. Con. Res. 45) commending the Ed Block Courage Award Foundation for its work in aiding children and families affected by child abuse, and designating November 2007 as National Courage Month. The Senate passed the resolution on October 3 (see The Source, 10/5/2007). The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform approved the resolution on November 8.

The award was established in 1978 in honor of Ed Block, the head athletic trainer of the Baltimore Colts. Houses run by the foundation provide care for abused children and their families in 17 locations nationwide.
