On November 29, the House Democratic Caucus reelected Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to the position of Democratic Leader for the 113th Congress. Leader Pelosi ran unopposed for the position, which she has held since 2011. She served as Speaker of the House during the 110th and 111th Congresses.
The House Republican Conference, Congressional Black Caucus, and Congressional Hispanic Caucus held their leadership elections during the week of November 12; each elected women to fill leadership positions (see The Source, 11/16/12).
