Employment– On June 25, the Senate approved, 95-3, the Supporting Knowledge and Investing in Lifelong Skills (SKILLS) Act (H.R. 803).

Child Protection– On June 26, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, the Victims of Child Abuse Reauthorization Act (S. 1799).

Health– On June 24, the House approved, by voice vote, the Newborn Screening Saves Lives Reauthorization Act (H.R. 1281).

Markups:

Human Trafficking– On June 24, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved, by voice vote, the Sean and David Goldman International Child Abduction and Return Act, as amended (H.R. 3212).

Appropriations– On June 24, the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government approved, by voice vote, the FY2015 Financial Services and General Services spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered).

On June 25, the House Appropriations Committee approved, 28-21, its version of the FY2015 Financial Services and General Government spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered).

On June 24, the House Appropriations Committee approved, by voice vote, the FY2015 State, Foreign Operations, and Related Services appropriations (as-yet-unnumbered).

On June 26, the House Foreign Affairs Committee approved, by voice vote, a bill to address human trafficking (H.R. 2283).

Tax Policy– On June 25, the House Ways and Means Committee approved, 22-15, the Child Tax Credit Improvement Act (H.R. 4935).

Hearings:

Violence Against Women– On June 26, the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee held a hearing, “Sexual Assault on Campus: Working to Ensure Student Safety.”

On June 23, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Subcommittee on Financial and Contracting Oversight held a roundtable, “Campus Sexual Assault: The Administrative Process and the Criminal Justice System.

On June 24, the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on International Operations and Organizations, Human Rights, Democracy, and Global Women’s Issues held a hearing, “Combating Violence and Discrimination Against Women: A Global Call to Action.”
