FAA Bill Includes Sexual Harassment Backlog Funding

This week, Congress sent the President a bill (H.R. 1000) to reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). On March 15, the House approved, 319-101, the conference report, while the Senate approved it on March 8, by a vote of 82-17.

The final measure includes a one-time $2 million appropriation to address a backlog of nearly 10,000 sexual harassment cases at the FAA. The language, authored by Rep. Juanita Millender-McDonald (D-CA), was included in a similar bill during the 105th Congress but was dropped during a House-Senate conference
