This week, with the outcome of the presidential election still uncertain, lawmakers decided to postpone their lame duck session until the first week of December. The House returned on November 13 to pass the 16th FY2001 continuing resolution (H. J. Res. 125) by unanimous consent. The Senate approved the resolution by unanimous consent the next day. The resolution will fund government programs through December 5.
