Congressional Schedule: February 2-6, 2026 

Floor Action: The House and Senate are in session this week.  

It has been two days since partial federal funding lapsed, and the partial federal government shut down began. 

Appropriations– This week, the House is expected to consider the Senate Amendment to H.R. 7148, a five-bill “minibus” spending package that includes FY2026 Defense; Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies; Financial Services and General Government; Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies, and State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs spending bill. 

This spending package includes a separate two-week continuing resolution to fund the Department of Homeland Security. 

Women’s History- On Monday, the House will vote on H.R. 988, a bill to move the place of incorporation and domicile of the National Woman’s Relief Corps to Illinois, to move the principal office of such Corps to Murphysboro, Illinois, and for other purposes. 

Mark-Ups: 

Sports- On Tuesday, the House Judiciary Committee will consider a number of bills, including H.R. 1028, the Protection of Women in Olympic and Amateur Sports Act.
