Weekly Legislative Update: March 2, 2026

Congressional Schedule: March 2-6, 2026 

Floor Action: The House and Senate are in session this week.  

It has been seventeen days since the Department of Homeland Security’s federal funding lapsed, and there is a partial federal government shut down. 

Human Trafficking- On Tuesday, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 4307, Enhancing Detection of Human Trafficking Act.

Mark-Ups:  

Family Support– On Tuesday, the House Agriculture Committee will consider H.R. 7567, the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 (also known as the Farm Bill), a bill that includes provisions to reauthorize several nutritional assistance programs of importance to women and their families. 

Hearings:   

Human Trafficking- On Tuesday, the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism will hold a hearing to examine confronting child trafficking and the failure to protect America’s most vulnerable.
