On July 24, the Senate approved, by voice vote, a resolution (S. Res. 248) honoring the life and achievements of Dame Lois Browne Evans, the first female barrister and attorney general of Bermuda and the first female opposition leader in the British Commonwealth. The resolution was approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee on July 12 (see The Source, 7/20/07).
