On June 14, Congress presented to the White House a bill (S. 1537), sponsored by Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA), that would authorize the secretary of the Senate to transfer proceeds from the Senate Gift Shop’s sale of holiday ornaments to the Senate Employee Child Care Center. The proceeds would fund necessary Center activities expenses, such as scholarships, educational supplies, and equipment.
