Congressional Schedule: January 20-23, 2026: 

Floor Action: The House is in session this week. The Senate is in recess.  

Appropriations- This week, the House is expected to consider a four-bill “minibus” spending package that includes the FY2026 Defense spending bill; Homeland Security spending bill; Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies spending bill; and Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered). 

Education- On Wednesday, the House will vote on H.R. 6359, the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act. 

Reproductive Health- On Wednesday, the House will vote on H.R. 6945, the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act. 

Hearings:  

Family Support- On Wednesday, the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Work and Welfare will hold a hearing on “Strengthening the Child Support Enforcement Program: Status, Challenges, and Opportunities for Modernization.” 

Also on Wednesday, the House Veterans Affairs will hold a hearing on “Community Care Network Next Generation: One Trillion Dollars of Oversight.”
