Floor Action:
The Senate is in session this week.
Employment- On Wednesday, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 2062, the Protecting Older Workers Against Age Discrimination Act.
Health- On Tuesday, the House will consider H.R. 482, the Newborn Screening Saves Lives Reauthorization Act.
Veterans- On Wednesday, the House also is scheduled to consider H.R. 239, the Equal Access to Contraception for Veterans Act.
Mark-Ups:
Appropriations- On Thursday, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government will mark up the FY2022 Financial Services and General Government spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered). This legislation would fund the Small Business Administration, among other agencies and programs.
On Friday, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Related Agencies will mark up the FY2022 Agriculture, Rural Development, FDA, and Related Agencies spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered). This bill contains funding for domestic and international food programs.
Also on Friday, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction, Veterans’ Affairs, and Related Agencies will mark up the FY2022 Military Construction, Veterans’ Affairs, and Related Agencies spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered), which would fund military family housing and the Veterans Health Administration.
Hearings:
Child Care– On Wednesday, the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Subcommittee on Economic Policy will hold a hearing to examine the role of child care in an equitable post-pandemic economy.
Employment- On Thursday, the House Oversight and Reform Committee will hold a hearing, “Leading by Example: The Need for Comprehensive Paid Leave for the Federal Workforce and Beyond.”
Military– On Wednesday, the House Homeland Security Committee will hold a hearing, “Building the Coast Guard America Needs: Achieving Diversity, Equity, and Accountability within the Service.”
