Congressional Schedule: March 4-8, 2024 

Floor Action: The House and Senate are in session. 

Appropriations: This week, the House and Senate are expected to consider legislation including six spending bills: the FY2024 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies; Energy and Water Development, and Related Agencies; Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies; Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies; Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies; and Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies spending bills.  

Reproductive Health: On Tuesday, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 3838, the Preventing Maternal Deaths Reauthorization Act of 2023.

Women’s History: This week, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will consider a number of bills, including S. 2274, to designate a facility of the United States Postal Service as the “Dessie A. Bebout Post Office,” and S. 3357, to designate a facility of the United States Postal Service as the “Hettie Simmons Love Post Office Building.” 

Hearing

Child Protection– On Wednesday, the House Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance will hold a hearing, “A Voice for the Voiceless – Child Sexual Abuse Material Identification.”
