WCPI Welcomes Liz Johnson, Fiona Kohrman, and Sarah Towles as Newest Members to Board of Directors

Washington, D.C. – The Women’s Congressional Policy Institute (WCPI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Liz Johnson, Fiona Kohrman, and Sarah Towles to its Board of Directors. Their diverse expertise and commitment to public service will be invaluable as WCPI continues to advance its mission to build a community of bipartisan women policymakers and trusted partners to advance issues of importance to women, develop the next generation of women leaders, and foster a more effective and representative democracy.

Liz Johnson serves as Senior Director of Policy and Government Affairs at Emerson Collective and is the former Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Mitt Romney. A veteran communications and policy strategist, she has held senior roles with Senators Kelly Ayotte and Susan Collins and at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and advised on the successful confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch.

Fiona Kohrman is a Legislative Representative at the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), where she advocates on behalf of federal workers. She has been with AFGE since 2014, rising from intern to research assistant to her current role. Her decade-long tenure reflects her deep commitment to public service and the rights of federal workers.

Sarah Towles is the Senior Director of Government Affairs at PepsiCo, where she leads the federal team in developing and strengthening the company’s long-term relationships with Congress. She oversees policy portfolios on transportation, trade, tax, and technology. Sarah previously spent nearly twelve years on Capitol Hill, most recently as Legislative Director for Senator Jeff Flake of Arizona, following service in the offices of Congressman Jeff Flake and Congressman Connie Mack.

“As WCPI expands its programming and strengthens its presence on Capitol Hill, we are fortunate to welcome three leaders whose deep experience in government affairs and public policy will guide our work forward,” said Jennifer Lockwood-Shabat, President of WCPI. “Liz, Fiona, and Sarah each bring invaluable perspectives that will enhance our efforts to connect bipartisan women leaders and uplift the next generation of women leaders in policy.”

“Their combined experience and commitment to bipartisan collaboration embody WCPI’s mission. We are thrilled to welcome Liz, Fiona, and Sarah to our Board and look forward to their contributions as we continue to empower women and support important bipartisan work,” said Mary-Lacey Reuther, WCPI Board Chair.

WCPI also extends its deepest gratitude to Anna Schneider, Amy Plaster, and Sherilyn Wright, who are rolling off the Board this year. Their leadership, dedication, and service have played a vital role in advancing WCPI’s mission and strengthening its programs. The organization is grateful for their many contributions and continued support of WCPI’s work.

WCPI looks forward to the leadership and insights of its new Board members as it continues to promote bipartisan collaboration on Capitol Hill and support the advancement of women in public policy.
