On January 28, the House approved, 227-188, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act (H.R. 7). The bill, which the House Judiciary Committee approved on January 15 (see The Source, 1/15/14), would prohibit federal funding for health benefit coverage that includes abortions. The measure also would prohibit the District of Columbia from spending locally raised revenue to provide abortion services for low-income women.
