Bill Condemning Boko Haram Passes House

On December 7, the House passed, by voice vote, S. 1632, a bill to require a regional strategy to address the threat posed by Boko Haram. The Senate approved the legislation in September 2015 (see The Source, 9/25/15).

The bill would require “a plan to strengthen and promote the rule of law by…responding to crime (including gender-based violence), while respecting human rights and strengthening accountability measures…”

The House vote clears the measure for President Obama’s signature.
