On May 11, the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs approved several bills, including H.R. 4892, a bill sponsored by Rep. Jeff Miller (R-FL) to require the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to pay certain veterans special compensation for the loss, or loss of use, of creative organs that results from a service-connected injury. VA defines “creative organs” to be reproductive organs and breast tissue.
The subcommittee approved the measure, as amended, by voice vote.
