Congress Completes Work on Transportation Spending Bill

On October 6, the House cleared the conference report for the FY2001 transportation appropriations bill (H.R. 4475) by a vote of 344-50. The same day, the Senate approved the measure by a vote of 78-10, making it the third FY2001 spending bill that Congress sent to the President this week.

The final measure would level-fund Minority Business Resource Centers at $1.9 million, the same amount provided by the House and a slight increase from the $1.5 million provided by the Senate. Minority business outreach would receive a $118,000 increase to $3 million, the same amount provided by the House and Senate.
