Congress Overrides Veto of Medicare Bill

On July 15, the House voted, 383-41, to override President Bush’s veto of the Medicare Improvement for Patients and Providers Act (H.R. 6331). Later that day, the Senate voted, 70-26, to override the president’s veto, thus enacting the measure. The Senate originally passed the bill on July 9 (see The Source, 7/11/08); the House passed the bill on June 24 (see The Source, 6/27/08).
