Congress Passes Omnibus Public Lands Bill; Includes Provision on Women’s Rights Trail

On March 25, the House approved, 285-140, the Senate amendments to H.R. 146. The Senate approved the bill on March 19 (see The Source, 3/20/09).

Among the bill’s provisions is language that would allow the construction of the “Votes for Women” trail in the Women’s Rights National Historical Park in Seneca, New York. The bill also would authorize $1 million per year for FY2009-2013 for grants to government and private entities to “provide interpretive and educational program development of national women’s rights history, including historic preservation.”
