Congressional Schedule: April 8-12, 2019

Mark-Ups: 

International- On Tuesday, the House Foreign Affairs Committee will mark up several pieces of legislation, including H. Res. 106, a resolution denouncing female genital mutilation.

Violence Against Women- On Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee will mark up S. 820, the Debbie Smith Act of 2019. 

Hearings:

Abortion– On Tuesday, the Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to hold a hearing on “Abortion Until Birth: The Need to Pass the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.”

Employment– On Wednesday, the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy will hold a hearing, “Investing in America’s Energy Infrastructure: Improving Energy Efficiency and Creating a Diverse Workforce.”

Veterans– On Tuesday, the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity will hold a hearing on several bills, including the Veteran Employment and Child Care Access Act (as-yet-unnumbered) and a bill to amend the Edith Nourse Rogers STEM Scholarship program at the Department of Veterans Affairs (as-yet-unnumbered).
