House Passes Bill to Protect Children from Online Threats

On October 3, the House approved, 417-3, S. 782, the Providing Resources, Officers, and Technology to Eradicate Cyber Threats to Our Children Act of 2017, as amended.

Sponsored by Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), the measure would assist law enforcement in combatting the online exploitation of children. In addition, the bill would extend the authorization of $60 million for the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force program.

The Senate passed the bill on June 15 (see The Source, 6/15/17).
