House Passes Domestic Sex Trafficking Bill

On December 21, the House approved, by voice vote, the Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking Deterrence and Victims Support Act (S. 2925). The Senate passed the measure on December 9 (see The Source, 12/10/10).

The House bill was amended to strike the provision regarding subpoena authority for investigations of unregistered sex offenders and modify the penalties imposed for possession of child pornography. As a result, the Senate would have to act again on the measure before final passage.
