On September 25, the House passed, 217-190, the conference report for the FY2010 Legislative Branch appropriations bill (H.R. 2918). The measure also contains a continuing resolution (CR) to provide continuing appropriations for the FY2010 fiscal year, which begins on October 1. The CR would extend until October 31 current FY2009 funding levels for most of the programs under the twelve appropriations bills: Agriculture; Commerce, Justice, Science; Defense; Energy and Water; Financial Services and General Government; Homeland Security; Interior and Environment; Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education; Legislative Branch; Military Construction, Veterans’ Affairs; State and Foreign Operations; and Transportation, Housing and Urban Development. The House cleared all twelve bills before the August recess; the Senate has approved five of the spending bills (see The Source, 9/18/09, The Source, 9/11/09, The Source, 8/7/09, The Source, 7/31/09, The Source, 7/24/09, The Source, 7/17/09, The Source, 7/12/09, and The Source, 6/19/09 for previous appropriations coverage).
