House Subcommittee Holds Hearing to Examine Home Visiting Services

On March 15, the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Human Resources held a hearing, “Reauthorization of the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program.” The hearing examined the success of the MIECHV program and called for the reauthorization and expansion of home visiting services for young mothers.

The following witnesses testified:

  • Beth Russell, nurse home visitor, Penn Medicine Lancaster General;
  • Rosa Valentin, client, Penn Medicine Lancaster General;
  • Eric Bellamy, home visiting manager, Children’s Trust of South Carolina; and
  • Diana Rauner, president, The Ounce of Prevention Fund.
