Human Trafficking Detection Bill Passes Senate Committee

On March 4, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee approved, by voice vote, the Human Trafficking Detection Act (H.R. 460). The House passed the legislation on January 27 (see The Source, 1/30/15).

The legislation, sponsored by Rep. Mark Walker (R-NC), would train Department of Homeland Security personnel to deter, detect, and disrupt human trafficking as part of their primary responsibilities.
