Congress sent the President the FY2002 legislative branch spending bill (H.R. 2647) this week. The House approved the conference report on November 1 by a vote of 374-52, while the Senate approved it by voice vote the same day.
The House-passed bill included language, authored by Rep. Anne Northup (R-KY), directing the Congressional Wellness Center Committee to report to the House Appropriations and the House Administration Committees “any differences in access to the House gym by female Members of the House and by male Members of the House, and to include a proposal to eliminate any such differences in order to provide equal access to the House gym for male and female Members.”
