Military Construction Spending Bill Headed to President

This week, Congress sent the President two FY2002 appropriations bills—Interior and Military Construction. The House approved the conference report for the FY2002 Military Construction spending bill (H.R. 2904) on October 17 by a vote of 409-1. The Senate approved it by a vote of 96-1on October 18.

The final bill funds child development centers at $43 million. The Senate bill provided $33 million, while the House bill provided $43 million, a $17.5 million increase over FY2001.
