PRIVATE Act Clears House

On May 24, the House passed, 418-0, H.R. 2052, the Protecting the Rights of Individuals Against Technological Exploitation (PRIVATE) Act, sponsored by Rep. Martha McSally (R-AZ).

The bill would amend the Uniform Code of Military Justice to prohibit the wrongful broadcast or distribution of “intimate visual images” of another person who reasonably expected such images to be private and did not consent to their broadcast or distribution.
