Senate Approves Site for National Women’s History Museum

On July 29, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, a bill (S. 501) that would direct the General Services Administration to lease vacant property located in Washington, D.C., for the development of the National Women’s History Museum. The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee approved the measure on April 13 (see The Source, 4/15/05).

Prior to final consideration, the Senate approved, without objection, an amendment specifying that no federal funds would be used to establish, construct, or operate the National Women’s History Museum.
