Senate Committee Examines Abortion Bill

On March 15, the Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing, “Late-Term Abortion: Protecting Babies Born Alive and Capable of Feeling Pain.” The hearing considered the “Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act” (S. 1553), sponsored by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC). The measure would prohibit an abortion from being performed if the post-fertilization age is 20 weeks or greater.

  • Kathi A. Aultman, retired gynecologist.
