Senate Honors Military Families

On November 10, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, a resolution (S. Res. 9) designating November as “National Military Family Month” in recognition of the “sacrifices and dedication” of military families.

Sponsored by Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-HI), the resolution states that military families “represent the bedrock upon which our Nation was founded and upon which our Nation continues to rely in these perilous and challenging times” and calls upon the president to establish November as “National Military Family Month” to be observed “with appropriate ceremonies and activities.”
