Senate Passes Resolution on Role of Women in Suicide Bombings

On March 20, the Senate passed, by unanimous consent and without debate, a resolution (S. Res. 229) condemning the involvement of women in suicide bombings. The resolution was sponsored by Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and was cosponsored by all of the women Senators.

The resolution “reaffirms the condemnation of all suicide bombings as terrorist acts” and “calls on women of the world not to emulate a self-destructive, brutal, and murderous crime.”
