On July 29, the House passed, by voice vote, S. 1513, a bill to extend until September 30 programs authorized under the Small Business Act (P.L. 109-316). The Senate passed the bill on July 24. The current authorization (P.L. 111-10) expires on July 31. The president is expected to sign the measure.
Programs authorized under the Small Business Act include the Women’s Business Centers and the Small Business Development Centers, among other provisions.
