Late this week, Congress approved a third continuing resolution (H. J. Res. 111) to fund government programs at FY2000 levels through October 20. The House passed the resolution by a vote of 407-2 on October 12 and the Senate approved it the same day by a vote of 90-1. Congress hopes to complete work on the remaining FY2001 spending bills by the end of next week.
