Alma Adams (D-NC)/Energy and Commerce (4/17/20)—A resolution recognizing the designation of the week of April 11 through April 17, 2020 as “Black Maternal Health Week,” to bring national attention to the United States maternal health crisis in the black community and the importance of reducing maternal mortality and morbidity among black women and birthing persons.

Family Support

H.R. 6510—Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN)/Agriculture (4/14/20)—A bill to require the secretary of Agriculture to expand for all the states during the COVID-19 public health emergency, the program to approve retail food stores to accept through on-line transactions for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits provided under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008.

H.R. 6533—Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-TX)/Armed Services; Energy and Commerce (4/17/20)—A bill to authorize the secretary of Defense to share with state and local health authorities the practices of, and lessons learned by, the military health system for the prevention of infant and maternal mortality.
