Weekly Legislative Update: April 28, 2025

Congressional Schedule: April 28-May 2, 2025 

Floor Action: The Senate and House are in session.

Budget – On Wednesday, the House may consider Senate Amendment to H. Con. Res. 14, a concurrent resolution establishing the congressional budget for FY25 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for FY26 through FY34.   
 
Violence Against Women – On Monday, the House is scheduled to consider S. 146, the Take It Down Act, a bill that will require covered platforms to remove nonconsensual intimate visual depictions, and for other purposes. 
 
Mark-Ups: 
 
Health – On Tuesday, the House Energy and Commerce is scheduled to mark up a number of bills, including H.R. 2319, the Women and Lung Cancer Research and Preventive Services Act of 2025, a bill to direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to conduct a review to evaluate the status of research on lung cancer in women and underserved populations, and for other purposes.

H.R. 2974—Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-NY)/Agriculture (04/21/2025)—A bill to exempt workforce training dollars as income for supplemental nutrition assistance program beneficiaries.  

H.R. 2983—Rep. Al Green (D-TX)/Agriculture (04/24/2025)—A bill to compensate victims of theft of supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits, and for other purposes.  

Military 

H.R. 3025—Rep. Marilyn Strickland (D-WA)/Armed Services (04/24/2025)—A bill to provide for the coverage of assisted reproductive services under the TRICARE program, and for other purposes. 

Tax Policy 

H.R. 2994—Rep. Danny Davis (D-IL)/Ways and Means (04/24/2025)—A bill to enhance the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit and make the credit fully refundable for certain taxpayers.
