The House and Senate are in session this week.

Hearings:

Military- On Wednesday, the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Military Personnel will hold a hearing, “Jurisdiction, Investigation, and Prosecution of Sexual Assault and Harassment in the National Guard.” 

STEM- On Thursday, the House Science, Space, and Technology Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics will hold a hearing, “Keeping Our Sights on Mars Part 3: A Status Update and Review of NASA’s Artemis Initiative.” With Artemis missions, NASA will land the first woman and first person of color on the moon.

S.  3500—Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA)/Finance (1/13/22)—A bill to improve the reporting of abortion data to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and for other purposes.

Human Trafficking

S. 3470—Sen. James Lankford (R-OK)/Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs (1/11/22)—A bill to provide for the implementation of certain trafficking in contracting provisions, and for other purposes.

H.R. 6389—Rep. Bradley Schneider (D-IL)/Ways and Means (1/12/22)—A bill to provide an exemption from gross income for mandatory restitution or civil damages as recompense for trafficking in persons.

Violence Against Women

S. 3471—Sen. Bob Casey, Jr. (D-PA)/Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (1/11/22)—A bill to address the needs of individuals with disabilities within the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. This bill would improve responses to sexual violence against students with disabilities.
