Weekly Legislative Update: July 7, 2025

Congressional Schedule: July 7-11, 2025 

Floor Action: The Senate is in session starting Tuesday evening. The House is in recess until July 14.  

Mark-Ups:  

Appropriations- On Thursday, the Senate Appropriations Committee will mark up the FY2026 Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered). The legislation likely includes funding for programs to combat violence against women and encourage women to enter STEM-related professions.   

Also on Thursday, the Senate Appropriations Committee will mark up the FY2026 Legislative Branch spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered). The legislation likely includes funding for childcare for congressional employees.  

Also on Thursday, the Senate Appropriations Committee will mark up the FY2026 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered). The legislation likely includes funding for several domestic and international nutrition assistance programs and FDA user fees. 


Bills Introduced: June 30-July 4, 2025 

No legislation specific to women and girls was introduced last week.
