Weekly Legislative Update: June 30, 2025

Congressional Schedule: June 30 – July 4, 2025 

Floor Action: The House and Senate are in session until the passage of H.R. 1.

Budget– This week, the Senate is scheduled to consider H.R. 1, which makes changes to Medicaid, the child tax credit, the paid family and medical leave tax credit, SNAP, as well as other programs impacting women and families. 

Once the bill is passed by the Senate, it returns to the House for consideration. If the vote fails, the House and Senate must resolve differences before the legislation can be signed into law.

Women’s History  

S. 2195—Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI)/Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs (06/26/2025)—A bill to award a Congressional Gold Medal, collectively, to the brave women who served in World War II as members of the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and U.S. Navy Nurse Corps.
